P2 Students Poster Day: Advocating for the Pharmacy Profession
In an inspiring display of passion, creativity, and professional pride, around 60 pharmacy students (P2) recently participated in the “Advocacy for the Profession” Poster Day on April 16, 2025. Divided into dynamic teams of approximately six students each, the participants set out to advocate for one specific type of pharmacist, showcasing not only the diversity of career paths within pharmacy but also the critical roles pharmacists play across sectors.
The participating groups represented Community, Clinical, Hospital, Veterinary, Academia, Research, Market Access, Consultancy, and Industrial pharmacists, offering a comprehensive snapshot of the pharmacy landscape. Each group dived deep into the responsibilities, challenges, and impact of their assigned profession.
What made this event truly stand out was the interactive and engaging approach students took to convey their messages. Some groups incorporated QR codes linking to surveys, videos, or social media content. Others designed educational brochures, conducted public interviews, or hosted Kahoot! games to interact with visitors. The level of innovation and effort was evident across the board, creating a lively atmosphere filled with learning, curiosity, and dialogue.
Both students and faculty thoroughly enjoyed the activity. It allowed students to practice real-world advocacy while honing their communication and teamwork skills. Faculty members were equally impressed with the depth of knowledge and the breadth of the profession that students were able to showcase. At the end of the event, faculty and staff who attended the session evaluated the posters and selected a winning one.
This Poster Day served as a powerful reminder of how multi-faceted the pharmacy profession is and how well-prepared these future pharmacists are to represent it with confidence, clarity, and purpose.
