Naser Zaki Alsharif, PharmD, MS, PhD

Professor and Dean (LAU-SOP)

Dr. Alsharif holds a PharmD (87) and MS (88) in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a Ph.D. (92) in Pharmacology/Toxicology from Creighton University in the US. He is currently professor and Dean at Lebanese American University School of Pharmacy.  He was a tenured professor of pharmacy sciences at CU for 28 years.  He is an accomplished educator and researcher. He served as visiting professor and consultant at a number of universities in the Arab World.

Jihan Safwan, PharmD

Dr. Safwan is a Registered Pharmacist at the Lebanese Order of Pharmacists (OPL). Dr. Safwan holds both a pharmacy BS (2007) and PharmD (2008) degrees from the Lebanese American University. During her pharmacy practices, she has earned experiences in clinical, hospital, and community settings. She has attended and participated actively through oral communications in many national and international conferences and pharmacy education-related workshops in the GCC and the Middle East. She also participates in the continuing education program organized by the OPL through presenting many didactic lectures. Dr. Safwan has more than ten years of academic teaching experience and chaired many school committees, including the accreditation, curriculum, grievance, and extracurricular committees. Her main research interests are pharmacy education, community pharmacy, cardiovascular diseases, mental health, epidemiology, and public health. She has presented her research at various international conferences and published her work in renowned peer-reviewed journals. Her role as both a professor and a health care professional has given her broad clinical experience to play an active and productive role in the community.


Maya Zeineddine, PharmD

Clinical Associate Professor

Dr. Zeineddine is currently a Clinical Associate Professor at the Lebanese American University. She is a Lebanese Senior Clinical/Ambulatory Care Pharmacist specialized in neurology and multiple sclerosis. Winner of the “Best Clinician” and “Positive Attitude” awards, she completed several internships at major hospital and community pharmacies in Lebanon and the US and graduated from LAU with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree with distinction in June 2011. In August 2015, she successfully passed the Multiple Sclerosis Specialization examination and became the first and only Multiple Sclerosis Certified Pharmacist in Lebanon and the Middle East. From September 2011-August 2020, she worked as the ambulatory care pharmacist of the Multiple Sclerosis Center of the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC). In December 2015, she was appointed as Executive Secretary of the Middle East North Africa Committee for Research and Treatment in Multiple Sclerosis (MENACTRIMS). Dr.Zeineddine is an active researcher and a public speaker. She has multiple publications, is involved in several international clinical trials in the field of neurology and multiple sclerosis and is a member of several national and international professional organizations. From 2015 and until 2022, she was also the fund coordinator at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society of Lebanon (MSSL). She is currently the leader of the Neuropsychiatry Listserv at IVPN-Network and is a PhD candidate in “Epidemiology of Chronic Diseases” at the Tropical Institute of Neurology at Limoges University, Limoges, France. In May 2023, she was invited by the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation to join their International Medical and Scientific Board, representing the Middle East and North Africa region in the aim of improving the quality of life of people affected by multiple sclerosis.

Souraya Domiati, PharmD, PhD

Dr. Domiati studied pharmacy at the Lebanese American University from where she got her Pharm D degree. She earned also a PhD degree from Beirut Arab University after fulfilling her doctorate research entitled “Investigation of the Pharmacological Effects of Some Selected Agents on Pain and Inflammatory Processes in Experimental Animal Models”. She worked as community pharmacy manager for fifteen years. She has around twenty-four years of teaching experience in therapeutics, pharmacology, and pharmacy practice.  She supervised more than 70 Pharm. D theses. She has several publications on pharmacology and epidemiologic studies. She was a member of the scientific committee and continuous education at the Order of Pharmacist of Lebanon for several years. She is now a member of the Emergency medication registration committee at the ministry of Public Health. She is an associate professor of pharmacology and therapeutics as well as the Pharm D coordinator at Beirut Arab University. Her research interest is in clinical research as well as preclinical animal studies on anti-inflammatory/analgesic agents.


Pascale Salameh, PharmD, MPH, PhD, HDR

Dr. Salameh holds the position of full professor of Epidemiology at the Lebanese University, Faculty of Pharmacy. Additionally, she serves as an adjunct and visiting professor at esteemed institutions such as the Lebanese American University - School of Medicine and various European universities, including those in France, Belgium, Germany, and Cyprus. Proficient in research direction, accreditation, and education quality, she has extensive expertise in research design, data collection, management, and advanced statistical analysis.

Prof. Salameh ranks in the top 1% of global researchers in public health according to Scopus, with a remarkable portfolio comprising over 600 publications in peer-reviewed journals, numerous book chapters, and an extensive array of oral presentations and scientific posters. Her contributions span the fields of medical epidemiology, clinical pharmacy, higher education, and public health. Notably, she is the founder and director of INSPECT-LB, an autonomous multidisciplinary health research group recognized as the top-ranked institution in research by Scimago Institutional ranking for two consecutive years in Lebanon.

Prof. Salameh has been honored with the Medal of the French National Academy of Pharmacy. She actively participates in various national committees related to health, leveraging her expertise as an antimicrobial resistance specialist collaborating with the World Health Organization in Geneva. Furthermore, she plays an integral role as an active member of the International Pharmaceutical Federation.

Prof. Salameh brings a wealth of administrative experience, having served as the Former Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Lebanese University and the Former Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the School of Pharmacy at the Lebanese American University. She has also been the Chair of the Scientific Committee at the Lebanese Order of Pharmacists for many years, committing to advancing pharmacy education and research.

Diane Antonios-Gholam, DPharm, PhD, ERT

Associate Professor of Toxicology

(USJ)

Dr. Antonios-Gholam is an Associate Professor of Toxicology specialized in immunotoxicology and clinical analytical toxicology at the USJ school of Pharmacy.

Dr Antonios-Gholam earned her D. Pharm in 2005 from USJ and her PhD in 2009 jointly from both Paris Saclay (formerly Paris XI) and USJ. In 2022, she was registered in the European Register of Toxicologists (ERT), which comprises a list of toxicologists excelling in high standards of education, skills, experience, and professional standing. She is actively involved in several research projects including drug hypersensitivity reactions, clinical and occupational toxicology, fundamental and applied immunology and vaccination. She has presented her research at national and international conferences and has numerous peer-reviewed publications, showcasing her contributions to the fields of toxicology and immunology.
