Patient Care
The LAU School of Pharmacy is a pioneer in pharmacy practice innovation and advancement in Lebanon. The school is committed to advance pharmacy practice in various settings, improve human health and serve the community at large. The school’s clinical faculty members engage in interprofessional practice beyond LAU’s medical center, developing new practice models of care in collaboration with primary healthcare services and community health centers.
Most of the school’s clinical practice and patient care endeavors are carried out at LAU Medical Center–Rizk Hospital. In an unprecedented approach to patient care, several clinical pharmacy faculty members work as part of interdisciplinary collaborative healthcare teams in a variety of practice settings such as critical care, cardiology, emergency medicine, infectious diseases, internal medicine, ambulatory care and medication safety. Added, is the launch in 2019 of a pharmacy residency program that will further support the advancement of clnical education and practice.
In alignment with the Pharmacists’ Patient Care Process (PPCP) model, our pharmacy students are integrated into all patient-centered care experiences during their introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experiences.
